Requirements for carsharing with an IDP

Here are the things you need to have or know to carshare with an IDP in Singapore.

If you’re from an ASEAN country (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam):

  • You don’t need an IDP
  • Working Pass in Singapore (Work Permit, S Pass, EP, or LTVP)
  • Last entry in Singapore (Flight itinerary, SG E-arrival pass card)
  • Full address of residential in Singapore
  • Proof photo of current residence (Billing address)
  • If you’re between 19 to 24 years old, you need min. 1 year of driving experience

If you’re from a non-ASEAN country:

  • You need an IDP
    • Must be in English
    • An official translation of your driving licence in English obtained from the relevant Embassy, High Commission, or any Singapore registered translation companies. (Translation is not required for licences issued by Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia.)
  • Front and back photo of IDP booklet
  • Clear selfie for you holding the IDP booklet
  • Working Pass in Singapore (Work Permit, S Pass, EP, or LTVP)
  • Last entry in Singapore (Flight itinerary, SG E-arrival pass card)
  • Full address of residential in Singapore
  • Proof photo of current residence (Billing address)
  • If you’re between 19 to 24 years old, you need min. 1 year of driving experience

Once you’ve gathered all the required documents, submit them to the car-sharing service of your choice for verification.
