You asked, we listened — we’re expanding our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) options! From now on, you’ll be able to embark on drives with more coverage than ever before. Our improved Standard CDW and all-new Enhanced CDW options are here to offer you coverage in the event of any accidents. Read on:
What is Collision Damage Waiver?
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an additional coverage option that you can purchase on top of the basic motor insurance which is already included in your booking. CDW lowers the amount you pay for your Own Damage Excess and Third Party Excess in the event of an accident.
We’re always looking to provide you guys with better coverage and assurance in every scenario. That’s why we’re launching…
Improved standard coverage with lower excess
While the Standard CDW has been available for a while, we’ve taken your feedback and lowered the excess for most of our categories — so your drives with GetGo are about to get a lot more secure.
From now on, if you have the Standard CDW coverage enabled, the Total Excess for experienced drivers driving GetGo vehicles* will be lowered from $3,300 to just $2,300 ($1,150 for Own Damage Excess and $1,150 for Third Party Excess). The Standard CDW will still cost just 5% of your total bill, so we’re giving you more coverage for the same cost.
For every booking made, the improved Standard CDW coverage will now be pre-selected for your convenience and peace of mind. You’ll also have the choice to opt out, so you’ve always got options no matter what your preferences are.
More extensive coverage options
We’ve also prepared something for GetGoers looking for even more coverage. It’s designed to further lower the costs incurred in the event of an accident.
With the Enhanced CDW, the Total Excess for experienced drivers driving GetGo vehicles* will be lowered to just $900 ($450 for Own Damage Excess and $450 for Third Party Excess) in the event of an accident. This means that you’ll be saving up to $5,700. And to get covered by the Enhanced CDW, it’ll cost just 10% of your total bill.
Choosing the right coverage for you
To help you make the most informed decision on our coverage options, we’ve put together a detailed comparison table of our Standard and Enhanced CDW options. This table lays out all the specifics you need to know about what each option covers, the differences in excess amounts, and the savings you’ll get with each option. Whatever level of coverage you’re looking for, this table will assist you in choosing the right option to meet your needs. Check it out below:

High accident costs are one of our community’s biggest concerns, so this is something that we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to roll out for a while. Get ready, because worry-free drives are just a booking away.
*This applies to all GetGo vehicles except the Luxury and Premium Electric categories.
