01 • Rang Mahal

For the last 50 years, Rang Mahal has been known as the pinnacle of luxurious and delicious North Indian food. From 21 October to 5 November, you can order their specially curated Diwali Celebration Set Menu. Each set comes with one starter, one main, one naan and one dessert, and it also includes their Signature Dal Makhani, Green Peas Pulao Rice, Anokhi Subz Vegetables, Cucumber Raita and 2 Rang Mahal Signature Diwali Mithais.

You may also order from their regular menu, with some of the recommended dishes being the Tandoor-Grilled Seabass, the Lamb Roganjosh and the crowd-favourite Palak Paneer.

02 • Firangi Superstar

Touted as a foreigner’s whimsical love letter to India, stepping into Firangi Superstar will feel almost like you’ve stepped into a Wes Anderson movie. There are four themed rooms in this space: Officer’s Club, Old Railway Room, Elephant Palace and Jungle Lodge — and if this isn’t enough to impress you, be prepared to be blown away by the food!

From 1 November to 6 November, indulge in their Firangi Diwali Set Menu prepared by head chef Thiru Gunasakaran. Some of the specials include the Chat Masala Foie Gras and Masala Crab with Caviar.

03 • Khansama Tandoori Restaurant

After taking a stroll along Little India, why not settle in at this wallet-friendly eatery located along Serangoon Road? Khansama Tandoori Restaurant serves up a variety of North-Indian delicacies, with several standout dishes.

Be sure to try the Tandoori Gobhi, where cauliflower pieces marinated in yogurt and spices are beautifully baked in a charcoal oven. The house speciality, Bharwan Masala Baingani, is another must-try — sliced eggplants are stuffed with a spicy-dry masala mix and sautéed to perfection. 04 • Bismillah Biryani

A pared-down rendition of the classic biryani is served at Bismillah Biryani, with this dish prepared dum-style. It’s a process that starts with putting all the ingredients in one container, sealing it, and letting it slowly cook on slow fire.

This adds an incredible depth to the flavour and makes the biryani here light on the stomach — making it no wonder why this humble spot is often touted as having the best biryani in Singapore!
