While rooftop restaurants in Singapore aren’t exactly dime-a-dozen, you’d be surprised at how many of them there are. Thanks to our iconic skyline, there’s a great selection of rooftop restaurants in town, each promising breathtaking views and scrumptious food. Here’s my roundup of the swankiest ones for the next time you’re in the mood for a lavish dinner.

01 • Lavo Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar

(Photo: Dania Experiences)

Marina Bay Sands may be a no-brainer for impressive meals, but that doesn’t stop Lavo from pulling out all the stops to create a truly jaw-dropping dining experience. The 180-degree view of the city skyline perfectly complements Lavo’s extensive selection of show-stopping Italian dishes.

Despite its opulent facade, Lavo is unpretentious with its cuisine. Whether you’re bringing along young diners or looking to update your Instagram feed, dishes like the giant 1lb Meatball ($39), the brick-oven Black Truffle Pizza ($35), and the Chicken Parmigiana ($43) are sure to leave everyone feeling satiated.

Sky-high meals deserve sky-high desserts, so I can’t close off this entry without recommending Lavo’s 20 Layer Chocolate Cake. Every bite of this mammoth is full of fudge-filled, peanut-buttery goodness. Even if you can lap up this killer cake alone, sweet things are best shared with loved ones — so remember to bring the squad.

📍 Address: 10 Bayfront Avenue, Marina Bay Sands, Hotel, Level 57 Tower 1, Singapore 018956
Opening hours: Mon to Thu, 11am – 12am | Fri and Sat, 11am – 1:30am | Sun, 12pm – 12am

02 • Eclipse by BDC

(Photo: Restaurant Eclipse)

No matter what time of the month it is, you can always dine under a full moon at Eclipse. Located on top of the historic Yue Hwa Building, this is a rare rooftop restaurant in Singapore with an interior that’s just as stunning as its outdoor dining area. Eclipse’s main dining hall is ceilinged by an artificial rock formation made to resemble the moon. The ceiling catches the light such that it almost glows, giving meals here a beautiful backdrop.

Eclipse offers a selection of Asian-European fusion cuisine heavily coloured by the personal taste of head chef Samuel Quan. His unique spin on fusion cuisine begins right at the beginning of your meal, with a complimentary bread platter that comes with Paprika Kombu Butter chosen for its unique savoury aftertaste.

After that, you’ll have plenty to choose from, ranging from sharing plates of bite-sized goodies to 5-course meals. No matter what time you come, you’ll be able to snag certain crowd favourites, such as the Crab Laksa Croquette ($16) and Japanese Hyogo Oysters ($14). But if you come for dinner, you’ll be rewarded with even grander eats, such as the charcoal-grilled 28 Days Dry Aged Southern Pinnacle Beef Striploin ($48).

📍 Address: 70 Eu Tong Sen Street, #06-01 Yue Hwa Building, Singapore 059805
Opening hours: Sun, Tues to Thu, 12pm – 3pm, 6pm – 10:30pm | Fri and Sat, 12pm – 3pm, 6pm – 11pm

03 • Vue

(Photo: Vue)

If you’ve never had the pleasure of dining on a rooftop penthouse, Vue is here to introduce you to one of life’s finest pleasures. Everything at Vue has been designed for uninterrupted views of the Singapore River. With floor-to-ceiling windows offering uninterrupted panoramic views of Marina Bay, Vue’s 19th-floor locale makes it the perfect spot to pretend you’re in Crazy Rich Asians.

Dinners at Vue start from $128 for 3 courses, with options available for vegetarians and vegans. But no matter your dietary preference, you’ll be in good hands, as just about every dish here matches the view.

However, the star of the spread is the binchotan-grilled Mangalica Pork Collar. It’s made from one of the world’s fattest pig breeds and pureed with parsnip for pure oozy goodness. Also worth checking out are the Spanish Octopus, Uni Risotto, and White Sturgeon Tempura.

04 • Altro Zafferano

(Photo: Altro Zafferano)

Located on the 43rd floor of the Ocean Financial Centre, Altro Zafferano is a favourite amongst savvy suits with clients to impress. Intrepid diners looking for the traditional flavours of Italy will be rewarded with Michelin-recommended cooking heavily inspired by head chef Andrea de Paola’s hometown of Naples.

Don’t miss the Spaghetti alle Vongole e Bottarga Armatore ($42). The clams are painstakingly marinated with herb oil in a charcoal oven, giving them a smoky flavour that complements the Tuna Bottarga (roe) wonderfully. Paired with classics like the Tartare Di Tonno ($24) and the 36-month aged Prosciutto ($22), it’s enough to give your taste buds an actual Ratatouille moment.

📍 Address: 10 Collyer Quay, Level 43, Singapore 049315
Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 12pm – 3pm, 6pm – 11pm | Sat, 6pm – 11pm

05 • Panamericana

(Photo: Panamericana)

Direct your gaze southwards for a rooftop restaurant with sweeping sea views. Located in sunny Sentosa, Panamericana offers a truly one-of-a-kind view of the South China Sea, unobstructed by the tankers and container ships that scoot into view at most other seaside spots.

Accompanying the spectacular view is a menu filled with grilled eats and cuisines from 14 countries lining the Pan-American Highway. Treat yourself to Argentinian Empanadas ($16), Mexican Chorizos ($18), and Peruvian Ceviches ($28). If you have room for a meal that truly encapsulates the soul of South America, order a smoky, sinful, 7-hour wood-fired Lamb Al Asador ($70).

📍 Address: 27 Bukit Manis Road, Sentosa Golf Club, 099892
Opening hours: Wed and Thu, 12pm – 3pm, 5pm – 10pm | Fri and Sat, 12pm – 4pm, 5pm – 12am | Sun, 12pm – 4pm, 5pm – 10pm

06 • Jaan by Kirk Westaway

(Photo: Jaan by Kirk Westaway)

Located on the 70th floor of Swissotel The Stamford and commanding 2 Michelin stars, Jaan’s skyline view zooms past the “wow, how cool!” zone straight into acrophobia territory for some. However, those who brave the flight up will be served with a world-class helping of dishes that look avant-garde on the plate, but taste nostalgic in the mouth.

Kirk Westaway, a chef from Southwest Britain, has made his name cooking up dishes that recall his childhood. Starting from $198, his British-inspired takes on freshly sourced ingredients like Alaskan King Crab, Kagoshima wagyu, and hand-dived scallop will transport you to the gates of seafood heaven. What’s more, the feast is served on bespoke tableware.

The standout here is the Wild Turbot, fresh from Ireland and lightly poached in a fish bone broth. It’s an incredibly delicate, silky dish that’s a reminder of the mastery it takes to be at the very top.

📍 Address: 2 Stamford Road, Level 70, Singapore 178882
Opening hours: Tue to Sat, 11:45am – 2:30pm, 6:30pm – 10:30pm

07 • CÉ LA VI

(Photo: TimeOut)

Part restaurant, part lounge, all fun. CÉ LA VI brings modern Asian dining to the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands. Located right at the tippy-top of the iconic Marina Bay Sands ship, this rooftop restaurant in Singapore sports a dining area and the popular Sky Lounge.

The menu here splits the difference between recreational and refined, featuring dishes like the Miyazaki Wagyu Beef Carpaccio ($52) and the Yellowtail Sashimi ($24). For those who believe that good things should be shared, the crispy-soft and tangy Margaret River Short Rib Bossam ($220) promises an entire kilogram of crowd-pleasing goodness.

If you need to burn off some calories, CÉ LA VI has a rotating menagerie of DJs, themed days, and events, so there’s never a dull night here. Just be sure to snag those reservations early; seats can get snagged up over 2 months in advance!

08 • Mr Stork by Hyatt

If dining on tables at a rooftop restaurant in Singapore is too played out for you, how about having your dinner inside a tepee tent? At Mr Stork, you’ll enjoy 360-degree CBD views from the comfort of Andaz Singapore’s rooftop garden. It’s enough to make you feel like you’re on top of the world, and that’s before you get to their menu of tropical bites.

To complement your cloud-top glamping trip, Mr Stork offers platters of goodies like Falafel Pockets ($18) and Momotaro Tomatoes ($20). But the slightly nutty, delicately flavoured blue swimmer Crab Sliders ($20) are a no-brainer for a more upscale snacking experience.

09 • Spago Dining Room

(Photo: Live Laugh and Joy)

The killer location, bungalow-style interior, and view overlooking Marina Bay Sands’ infinity pool make Spago the highest dining venture of celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. For decades, Puck and his team have made a name for themselves in creating breezy and versatile Californian cuisine.

By bringing his cuisine to Spago, Wolfgang Puck has created one of the best rooftop dining deals in town: a $68 for a 3-course lunch. The meal includes options like Miso Broiled Ora King Salmon and Orecchiette with Veal Ragu.

The real deal, however, is the Milk Fed Veal Tartare, which is an expertly crafted raw meat dish with a spongy texture.

📍 Address: 10 Bayfront Avenue, Hotel, Tower 2 Level 57, Marina Bay Sands, 018956
Opening hours: Sun to Thu, 12pm – 2:30pm, 6pm – 10pm | Fri and Sat, 12pm – 2:30pm, 6pm – 10:30pm

10 • Baia

(Photo: TimeOut)

While Baia’s 4th-floor venue might seem unimpressive amongst other rooftop restaurants in Singapore, its timeless, Roman-inspired dining hall is enough to make you feel like you’re being hand-fed grapes and chatting it up with Socrates.

With such an opulent interior, it’s no wonder that Baia’s cuisine is fit for an emperor. Among its food selection is an entire range of caviar-topped seafood, such as Cured Salmon Trout ($18) and Hokkaido Scallop ($25). If you really want to feast the Roman way, you can also order a charcuterie board of Truffle Chorizo ($16).

Once you’ve greased the gears of your digestive system, help yourself to even more roe with a Baerii Caviar Pizza ($58). The golden-dark caviar is hard to miss when it’s right on top of a striking white sheet of fiordilatte cheese — providing a creamy meal rich in that signature roe flavour.

📍 Address: 8 Raffles Avenue, Level 4 Esplanade Mall, Singapore 039802
Opening hours: Tues to Thu, 5pm – 1am | Fri and Sat, 5pm – 2am | Sun and Mon, 5pm – 12am

11 • Kaarla

(Photo: DISTRICT SIXTYFIVE)

Kaarla’s farm-to-table concept and ethically sourced ingredients passed through its giant centrepiece wood fire grill would make it a worthy restaurant. Pair that with the restaurant’s 51st floor location and you get a dining spot that’s truly sublime.

Kaarla deals in Australian-Japanese fusion cuisine, so expect bold, smoky flavours with a refined touch. The open kitchen lets you watch the chefs expertly grill premium cuts over white binchotan, infusing each dish with a delicate char. Begin your epicurean journey into this unique intersection of cuisines with garlic-glazed Fremantle Octopus ($16) and Miso Cod ($18). Then, end with a cut of White Pyreness Saddle Of Lamb ($48) and luxuriate in its velvety, sinewy flavour.

📍 Address: 88 Market Street, #51-02, CapitaSpring 048948

The oysters here are prepped 6 different ways for every type of oyster-lover. Even if you’re a purist and love your shells raw ($30), you need to try their Yuzu Ponzu plate ($30), which is fine-tuned to maximise umami flavour.

Southbridge also offers non-mollusc dishes like a 200g Grilled Wagyu Skirt ($24), Mushroom Poppers ($18), and Mentaiko Octopus Tacos ($18).
