Start August off strong with these recommendations from us. From aesthetically pleasing cafes to exhilarating activities, there’s something for everyone. 🥳
01 • Rise Bakehouse (halal)
(Photo from: Hungry Go Where)
Rise and shine, beautiful. The warm, wooden interiors and soft lighting of Rise Bakehouse will invite you into an atmosphere that’s perfect for a slow morning and your ‘Gram. Besides the interior, the showstoppers of Rise are definitely their bakes and pastries. Each of them, a work of art.
Pair their savoury and cheesy Croque Madame and with their Uji Matcha Latte. The Matcha is light and mildly astringent, which balances the strong flavours from the mains. Of course, don’t miss out on the picture-perfect sweet treats, including the Strawberry Cheesecake. It looks like it came straight out of a cartoon.

02 • Nico’s Cafe

Nico Cafe is the quintessential cottage-core haven, adorned with pastels and hanging plants. Doubling as a bookstore, it’s a dreamy retreat for book lovers and plant enthusiasts alike.
Their menu is also a feast for both your taste buds and camera roll. Try the New Zealand Grass-Fed Beef Cheek that’s slow-cooked for 48 hours. It melts the moment it’s in your mouth. Wash it down with Purple Sunset — a drink that combines orange soda and butterfly pea tea for a refreshing experience for your palette and eyes.

Simple wood furniture, emerald green accents, and an abundance of natural light create the cosy chic setting of The Bravery. Like its interior, the menu is also a bold and refined adventure for your taste buds.
Dig into the Japanese Clam Vongole Pasta, which fuses fresh Japanese clams, vibrant orange Tobiko, and perfect al-dente spaghetti. Freshen up with Rose Matcha, which is a combination of sweet florals and fresh Uji Matcha. They even top the drink with pretty rose petals — don’t forget to click a pic!

Another minimalistic and chic cafe, Spring Coffee, is taking over the internet with its attractive Strawberry Matcha Latte. It features in-house strawberry puree mixed with strawberry milk and matcha. In addition, the union of baby pink and green colours is a sight to behold.
Another crowd-favourite is the flaky croissant which comes in different flavours, including Kaya — don’t miss the burst of buttery and aromatic goodness. Try the classic banana loaf as well for an airy and fruity treat to start your day.
