01 • Hideout Coffee Bar

If walking through back alleys isn’t your thing, you might want to make an exception for Geylang. Nestled behind one of the shops along Geylang Road is the new Hideout Coffee Bar, where a cosy space and uncomplicated coffee and sandwiches await you.

Choose from Black, White, and Espresso Ale coffee options — or go for the Genmaicha or Matcha if you prefer tea. Pair your drink with one of their classic sandwiches, like the PB&J, Tuna Melts, Beef Brisket, or Meatballs.

Apart from the homey yet delicious menu, we also love their cute and cosy little space. They have a corner for small parties, and you can watch the baristas create their caffeine-loaded masterpieces up close. This humble cafe is perfect for hanging out with your besties!

📍 Address: 708 Geylang Road, Singapore 389623
⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 8am – 6pm | Sat and Sun, 9am – 4pm

Those who have visited Japan would surely have heard of the country’s famous food chain, Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu. Renowned for serving deliciously breaded and deep-fried beef cutlets, their outlets almost always have snaking lines of patrons.

The good news is they’re finally opening their doors in Singapore and are ready to serve us the same tantalising menu. Take your pick from various cuts like sirloin, tongue, tenderloin, and high-quality wagyu. There’s even a DIY grill option for those who prefer well-cooked meat.

04 • Art of the Brick

At Art of the Brick, you’ll get to see some of the world’s most iconic artworks built with LEGO bricks. We’re talking about masterpieces like Van Gogh’s A Starry Night, Michelangelo’s David, and the Mona Lisa. It’s no wonder why this exhibit that took the world by storm is in CNN’s list of “Must-See” exhibitions — every piece is so meticulously built by artist Nathan Sawaya, that they look so similar to their original counterparts.

For those going with kids, don’t forget to take them to the 6-metre-long T-Rex installation — it’s one of the biggest highlights of the exhibit.
