Table of Contents

Singapore has over 30,000 EV charging points today, with a government target of 60,000 by 2030. So thankfully, the days of hunting for charging points are over. Now, charging points are in your car park, your favourite mall, your local petrol station, and your office lobby.

But not all charging locations are made equal. Where you charge affects how fast you top up, what app you need, and how much you pay. This guide walks through every type of public charging location in Singapore, what to expect at each, and the specific spots worth knowing about.

πŸ’‘Protip:Β  If you've booked an EV through GetGo, you can charge for free at selected CDG Engie stations directly from the GetGo app β€” no separate app needed. Charging your GetGo EV also bags you discount codes for your next booking, so be sure to charge your vehicles for the next user!

If you’re a new EV driver, check out our quick guide to EV charging to help you get started.

01 Β· HDB Car Parks

(Photo: Straits Times)

HDB car parks are the backbone of Singapore's public EV charging network. The Land Transport Authority has committed to making every HDB town EV-ready, and as of early 2025, over 90% of HDB car parks already have charging points installed.

Chargers here are almost entirely AC (slow to fast), making HDB estates best suited to overnight top-ups or long daytime stops. Park up, run some errands, and return to a full battery.

What to expect

  • Charger type: Primarily AC (7.4kW–22kW); DC fast chargers are being introduced at selected HDB sites from 2026
  • Operators: CDG Engie, CHARGE+, SP Group, and EVe (LTA's own subsidiary)
  • Payment: Via provider apps; CDG Engie stations are free for GetGo EV bookings
  • Hours: Mostly24/7, open to any registered EV

Notable HDB charging locations

  • Blk 288H Bukit Batok Street 25 β€” CDG Engie, Lots 167–169
  • Blk 311 Clementi Avenue 4 β€” CDG Engie, Lots 486–488

02 Β· Shopping Malls

(Photo:Β Capitaland)

Shopping malls are the most convenient place to charge while you're already out and about. Singapore's major malls increasingly offer both AC and DC chargers, and some β€” like Great World and Suntec City β€” have built out substantial charging hubs with dozens of bays.

Charging rates at malls are generally slightly higher than HDB car parks, but parking fees are often offset by the ability to charge and shop at the same time. Several malls also offer flat-rate evening parking, which makes a DC top-up an affordable proposition.

What to expect

  • Charger type: Mix of AC (22kW) and DC (50kW–100kW); some malls have multiple fast chargers
  • Operators: Shell Recharge, SP Group, Volt, CDG Engie, CHARGE+, FastParkNCharge, Tesla Supercharger
  • Payment: Provider app or in some cases the mall's own app (e.g. Great Rewards at Great World)
  • Hours: Typically car park hours (some 24/7, others 7am–midnight)

Notable mall charging locations

Central / Orchard

  • 313 @ Somerset β€” Volt, Lots 112–114 (AC & DC)
  • ION Orchard (Level 7) β€” FastParkNCharge, AC 22kW + DC 100kW, $0.71/kWh
