Fun ways to destress in Singapore

In 2020, Singapore was ranked as the second most overworked city, and ninth from the bottom in work-life balance among 50 cities! 😱 This has been the trend for years, so it’s no secret (or surprise) that us Singaporeans deal with a lot of stress and frustration. Especially during these unpredictable times, it’s easy for all that stress and anxiety to pile up.

>Now that we’re at least allowed to go out and have a little fun, it’s time to let all your anger and frustrations go — smash, throw, splat, jump and smoosh them all away with these fun, fun, fun activities!

Level 1: The Fragment Room

Smash and bash all your troubles away at The Fragment Room, Singapore’s first rage room! 💥

The premise here is straightforward: anger therapy. Book a session and release all your frustrations with the help of baseball bats, crowbars, and more. Their rooms are filled with plates, glasses, vases, electronic appliances and other breakable items you can smash into, well, fragments. 😉

Prices start from $38 (1 pax, 30 minutes), and every package includes your Smashing Gear: a helmet with visor, freshly washed white overalls, cut-proof gloves, your weapon of choice, optional dust mask/eye goggles, and rentable safety boots.

Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday, 12pm – 10pm

Address: 490 MacPherson Road, Singapore 368198

Level 2: Axe Factor

Wield your axe and yeet all your troubles away at Axe Factor, an axe throwing range with over 10 lanes, housed at The Grandstand at Turf Club Road.

Each target board is set 4.3m away and there are trained axe-perts to coach and supervise you throughout your session (safety is key, after all!). The ranges are also covered with metal wire fences to ensure the safety of those on the outside, and axes are kept pretty blunt. Plus, they have an excellent safety record of zero accidents — so put any fears aside and throw away!

Prices start from $30 (1 pax, 1 hour). There is a minimum age requirement of 15 years old, and a waiver form must be signed by your parents/legal guardian if you are under 18 years old.

Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 12pm – 10pm

Address: 200 Turf Club Road, #01-32A & 34A/B, Singapore 287994

Painting may seem like a calm, peaceful activity — but not at Splat Paint House! It’s time to splat all your stress away at Singapore’s first splatter paint studio. 🎨

Arm yourself with any weapon of your choice, suit up in the protective overalls, and go wild! Splat Paint House says it best: “No rules. No boundaries. No stress.” This is a space dedicated to mess, to expression, to play — so don’t hold anything back.

Prices start from $43 (starter package), which includes a 40x50cm canvas, 400ml paints, 2 syringes, 1 squirt bottle/water gun, coveralls, shoe covers, safety glasses and gloves.

(Psst — they now have a new service on their menu, aptly titled UV Party. Get funky under UV lights with special fluorescent paint!)

Opening Hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 3pm – 9pm | Friday, 3pm – 9.30pm | Saturday, 11am – 9pm | Sunday, 11am – 7.30pm | Closed on Mondays & Tuesdays

When all else fails, there’s one thing that will definitely bring a smile to your face — CATS AND DOGS. 🐱🐶

There are a ton of pet cafes out there in Singapore, but we asked around the office, and our animal-obsessed-colleague highly recommends Cat Cafe Neko no Niwa, Singapore’s first cat cafe!

Located at Boat Quay, all 13 of the cafe’s cats are rescues (check out their cute profiles), and there are several cubby holes/resting spots for these fluffy cuties. Visitors have the choice of reading a book, playing board games, hanging out with the kitties by the window, or just relaxing on sofas to soak in all the cat therapy. 😌 A selection of coffee, tea and gourmet desserts can be ordered to complete the experience.

Prices start from $12 (1 pax, 1 hour), or you can get the 3-Hour Special for $24.

Opening Hours: Monday, Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 9pm (last entry at 9pm) | Closed on Tuesdays
